Yesterday marked the ending of one of the year’s big events for one of the club’s long -time sponsors, Douglas McCrea, managing director of McCrea Financial Services has been on an eight-day Charity Walk to raise money for two charities.
Douglas does a Charity Walk every year to raise money for McCrea Financial Services’ charities for each given year. This year the charities he was raising money for were Alzheimer Scotland and Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland.
The walk was an 117 mile journey along the Fife Coastal Path during which Douglas was joined by a number of friends along the way and he also blogged his experience over the eight days starting in Kincardine before passing Kirkcaldy and St. Andrews en route to reaching his final destination.
Upon the completion of the walk Douglas said on his blog: “At last count the tally was over £19,000 which is fantastic and thank you to all who have donated. Thanks to all who have helped this week and now for next Thursday and my next bonkers adventure.”
