Long time Partick Thistle supporter and sponsor of the club, Douglas McCrea, will shortly be setting off on his latest fundraising adventure.
This year Douglas will be walking all 134 miles of the John Muir Way between the 18th and 24th June (an average of almost 20 miles per day with the longest stints coming in at 26 miles!) to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity and Venture Trust.
This will be the longest walk undertaken for his charity walks and, with the osteo-arthritis playing up in his left hip, it could be the most challenging.
Over the last eight years, and with the help of more than a few Jags fan, McCreas has raised more than £350,000 for charity – an incredible amount by anyone’s measure – and the team has already raised more than half the target for the year.
Everyone at Partick Thistle wishes Douglas all the very best for his fundraising adventure and, if you would like to support him, you can do so here.
