Tomorrow’s match against Hamilton Academical will see some famous Firhill faces around the ground as the club embarks on the first phase of the launch of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association.
Announced at last October’s “Lunch With the Legends” event, the creation of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association is aimed at supporting former players of the Club after they have hung up their boots as well as keeping them connected with the Club they served on the pitch.
Guests of the club on Saturday, hosted by Gerry Britton and Alan Rough, will be John Marr, Alex O’Hara, Bobby Houston, James McKinstry, Jimmy Bone, Jackie Campbell, Frank Coulston, Andy Murdoch, Paul McDonald, Davie Elliott and Brian Hamilton.
Some of these former Jags will be in Aitken Suite pre-match tomorrow to meet Thistle supporters and reminisce about memorable moments from their playing careers. Others will attend the Alan Rough Lounge and visit the 71 Club.
Finally, at half-time, each guest of the Club will be welcomed to the pitch to enable all supporters to give them a deserved cheer and enjoy a short interview with one or two on the pitch.
We are delighted to be welcoming back a number of ex-Jags to tomorrow’s game at the start of our launch of the Partick Thistle Former Players Association and tomorrow’s game will be the start of a more regular series of events involving our former players.
