It is with enormous delight that Partick Thistle WFC can confirm that midfielder Rebecca McGowan has agreed to stay with the Club into the 2023-2024 season.
The former St Johnstone player joined Thistle in September 2021 and a hugely successful first season in red and yellow saw her voted the Players’ Player of the Year for the 2021-2022 season.
That form was extended into the 2022-2023 season just finished with ‘Bex’ making a total of 30 hardworking, industrious appearances in the Thistle midfield scoring twice. That takes her total Thistle appearances passed the 50 mark to 54 during which Rebecca has also contributed five goals.
Brian Graham Said:
“I’m delighted to have Bex back next season, she is a big player for us and provides a lot of the energy in our midfield.
We asked her to play a number of different roles in our midfield last season, both being that box to box player we know she can be and also at times playing more of a holding role and she showed her qualities in whatever we asked of her”
Rebecca McGowan Said: “I’m happy to be back again in Red and Yellow next season. It’s been a great two seasons so far.
“We had a great season last year but I think we can improve on that but we need to work hard together to do that.
“I’m excited to be back in with the girls for pre-season soon and working as hard as we can.
