Partick Thistle can today confirm that Stuart Bannigan has signed a contract extension which takes his current deal until the end of the 2024/25 season, subject to SFA approval.
Since making his debut almost 13 years ago, Stuart has played more than 350 times in red and yellow, proving himself as a key component in the heart of the Jags midfield throughout his time as a Jag.
A loan spell at Ayr United as a youngster taught Stuart the tools of his trade as he quickly established himself as a first team regular on his return to Firhill. Caps for Scotland at under-21 level followed before he impressed on the highest footballing stage in Scotland during Thistle’s five year stay in the Scottish Premiership.
Stuart was a vital part in our League One winning side in 20/21 and has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the cinch Championship over the last two seasons.
Stuart’s new contract means he is all set to join up with Kris Doolan’s squad for pre-season next week marking the start of his 16th season associated with the club.
