Over the last 12 months, we’ve tried hard to find out what things you, the supporters, would like changed – particularly around matchdays. One of the recurrent themes that has come back has always been the choice of food available from the kiosks around the stadium on a Saturday.
Having taken this feedback on board the Club has worked closely with matchday caterers, Pars Foods, to take the first steps towards improving the food available at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill.
That’s why, from today, there will be a dedicated pizza kiosk towards the south end of the Jackie Husband Stand and the other kiosks will also be selling fresh homemade soup – as well as the traditional matchday pies of course!
Speaking about the new additions Jags chief executive, Gerry Britton, said:
“In all the supporter consultation work we have done over the last year or so matchday catering has been a recurring theme. As much as I love a pie at the football we recognise that, if we are to appeal to a larger audience, offering a greater range of food options is absolutely key. I’d like to thank all the staff at Pars Foods for the work they have done as they have been very responsive to the feedback that we have passed on.
“There’s still work to do in this area but hopefully this, combined with the Kingsley bags introduced last season, mean a positive step in the right direction in terms of a wider range of options on a matchday catering.”
The new pizza kiosk will offer hot and cold drinks from £2 with pizzas starting from £2.50 for a kid’s pizza or £3.20 for a margherita.
