Tomorrow’s Match Programme Against Ross County

Tomorrow, Championship football finally comes back to Maryhill after nearly a month on the road for Partick Thistle. It is Ross County who are the visitors to the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill and there will be another jam packed matchday programme on sale around the ground.

Ahead of the clash with the Staggies, programme co-editor, Graham McRoberts, spoke to Jags centre-half, Steven Saunders for this weeks feature interview, as he discussed his experiences as a youth player at Queen’s Park, his time in Wales with TNS and his Thistle journey so far.

“It’s been good. I spoke to the gaffer and he told me about how we’d been playing well. The way he sold the Club to me and how we were going to play persuaded me to sign and everything he said has been true.

“In my first day in training I was wondering how we were so low in the league. The session was very good, the quality was high and we’ve seen the high work-rate. When I spoke to the gaffer he spoke about how the team had been good for about an hour then suffered a lapse in concentration and been punished for it. Concentrating for the full 90 minutes has become really important and has set the benchmark for our good recent performances. I’m here to play as much as I can and help the team climb as high up the Ladbrokes Championship table as possible.”
