VACANCY: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

We are recruiting a full time Accounts Assistant for our Football Administration office. The role will report directly to the CEO and will work independently within a seven strong Football Administration department.
This is an extremely varied role and the successful applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment. Office working hours are 9am-5.00pm Monday to Friday, with occasional matchday duties on a Saturday and midweek evenings.
 Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of sales and purchase ledgers
- Credit control
- Input in to Xero and Sage, including Journals
- Assist with VAT and PAYE returns
- Daily sales reconciliations
- Bank reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation of month end management accounts
- Work with external accountant in preparation of all statutory accounts
- Payment runs, issue of invoices
- Other administrative duties as required
The Ideal Person:
- Experienced in accounts and bookkeeping
- IT literate in Sage, Xero and Excel
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail
- Proven organisational skills aligned to strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent team worker but capable and willing to work independently on own initiative
