This evening’s Community Champion, with our partners at McDonald’s Maryhill, is a gentleman who has played a massive part not only within Maryhill, but through Glasgow as a whole.
John McCann, who was nominated through our partners at McDonald’s Maryhill, is a Neighbourhood Improvement Volunteer who works with a variety of groups throughout Glasgow.
Through his tireless work John has helped to keep the city Cleaner, Safer and Better by reporting incidents of litter, dog fouling and graffiti
He has also attended various clean ups to tackle six hot spot areas in the Wyndford area by working in partnership with Tesco, Glasgow City Council and Zero Waste Scotland. He has also helped to create a space for kids to enjoy growing plants at a local nursery and assisted with creating a community garden in the Wyndford Hub.
Working with the Environmental Task Force, John has worked hard to bring a greener Glasgow, thoroughly deserving his nomination this evening.
Having helped to many people in Glasgow enjoy a cleaner city it is no surprise to see why John was nominated to be tonight’s Community Champion. Everyone at Partick Thistle, along with our friends at McDonald’s Maryhill, hope that John has a terrific evening here at Firhill.
