Partick Thistle can today confirm the signing of striker, Lewis Mansell, from Blackburn on a two-year deal, subject to clearance.
The 21 year old spent last season on loan with the Jags from Blackburn Rovers and, following some impressive performances, has chosen to make the move a permanent one.
Lewis played 11 times for Thistle last season but was involved in some very important goals during that time, including his assist for Aidan Fitzpatrick against Dundee United and his goal against Queen of the South on the final day of the season.
On making his loan deal permanent Lewis said:
“I really enjoyed my time at the Club last season and hopefully I can pick up where I left off. It’s great to get everything sorted before pre-season starts as it means my sole focus now is on getting ready for the season ahead. I liked working with the manager as well and that played a part in my decision to return. I liked the way he wanted to play and felt like I improved a lot in my time with him. He pushes you to be your best in training and I can’t wait to get started again in pre-season.
“I like to think I’m a bit more than just a target up front. For sure, I can win headers and flick ons but I also want to be creative with the ball at my feet, driving forward and causing the opposition problems like I did for the late winner against Dundee United. I just want the chance to show that creative side and hopefully I’ll be able to do that this season.”
