Partick Thistle can today confirm that Motherwell forward Ross MacIver has agreed to sign for the club on a one-year deal and will join his team-mates at Firhill in June.
MacIver, 22, will be a familiar face to Jags fans having spent the latter part of last season on loan at Firhill. The striker made eight appearances for Ian McCall’s side, scoring twice in the process with both of his goals coming in his final three matches.
Ross netted his first Thistle goal away at Dumbarton when, having had a part to play in the opening goal, he made it 2-0 with a well-placed finish across the goalkeeper.
His second goal for the Club came on the final day of the season against Montrose as he fired home a rebound from close range to make it 1-1 at Links Park.
After Ross agreed to join the Jags, Thistle manager Ian McCall said:
“We’re really pleased to get Ross on board for the upcoming season. He came in on loan in March and did everything we asked of him and more. He very quickly integrated into the squad and played his part in our excellent end to the season.
“He’s a very hard worker and has a great aerial presence too. Everyone was delighted for him when he got his first couple of goals for the Club and we’re sure there’s plenty more to come from him.”
